16/11/2012 - Development proces SCOOP LED
In the market, the question for LED rose more and more. Therefore we started the development of the SCOOP with LED.
The big challenge for fixtures with LED is the cooling. A LED fixture hasn't got radiant heat. You don't feel the heat by the light source but LED really does produce conduction heat. A good cooling system is therefore an important factor by the production of LED-fixtures.
We wanted to implement the cooling into a mould and with this thought in our mind we started to design. By using CAD-files and in cooperation with Philips and SUNON we made simulations with passive as well as active cooling. The first (temperature) tests with the prototype fell short. According to our norms the temperature was too high.
In Eindhoven we called up a meeting with Philips, SUNON and PROTECH (our partner in moulding pieces). We discussed all the possibilities, with their advantages and disadvantages for the SCOOP LED. The inclination system of the SCOOP HIT / HST-TG for example had to be maintained.
We decided to adapt the original design with an active but standard cooling of SUNON. Our R&D department started with a new thinking process and came up with the definitive design. The SCOOP LED doesn't have to be inferior to the HIT / HST-TG version. All the positive aspects of the SCOOP HIT / HST-TG has stayed with the extra advantage of the aesthetics of module Fortimo SLM and the benefits of LED.
19/07/2012 - MAKRO launches a new store concept called "Urban Outdoor"
Makro store in Eke is the first shop of the group to apply this concept. A full product range and the shop-experience directed at families are the key elements. In the Urban-Outdoor zone, Makro assembles all products needed by the active consumer for the outdoor experience. This new "World" is clearly separated from the rest of the shop, in order to create a real "outdoor" environment.
Makro were in search of a good lighting solution in order to create this atmosphere. The new light design was developed in cooperation with LUNOO.
In the main hallway, Makro created a broad boulevard. On both sides of this hallway, the season sales are exhibited. To emphasize these products, a kind of streetlight poles were designed. The PLANET AIR 1100 was installed onto a galvanized support. The large lighting surface of the PLANET enhances the visibility of the products, which does not go unnoticed by the customers.
30/06/2012 - Harley-Davidson in Geel receives the "Bar & Shield Award", after a grand makeover.
One of the key factors in assigning this award is the look and feel of the building and showroom. It is exactly this change in the look and feel of Silver Lake Harley-Davidson, that renders this shop “state of the art”. The aim of the new showroom is to create a well organized shop-in-the-shop.
Special light sources are selected to make the paintwork sparkle. These motorcycles are in fact more than mere machines, they are the living representation of American history.
The custom-made luminaires PLANET AIR's, painted in the typically orange colour of Harley Davidson, create a cosy atmosphere in the bar area. Thanks to the selection of different types of lighting in different areas LUNOO succeeded in keeping a sense of order in the showroom measuring 800 sqm.The light accents are created by the TWISTER on 3F rail. LUNOO is proud to have been part of this American success story.

DESIGN
The design is a perfect marriage of technology and style. A successful combination of aluminium and plastic injection-moulded parts allows for a precision design. The black and white combination of these components ensures for a contemporary look.

ECOLOGY
LUNOO has researched all manner of ways to minimise the ecological footprint of this spotlight. That is why we chose to make it from recycled aluminium..
SPY-ON is also a particularly energy-friendly fixture since we have used the latest LED technologies. The combination of energy-efficient LED modules with Preano®Sun reflectors ensures for optimum energy efficiency.
TECHNOLOGIE
In order to be able to guarantee that the LED modules have a long life expectancy, it is extremely important that the module is adequately cooled. Lunoo carried out a thermal simulation to meet this requirement. The SPY-ON features both active and passive cooling.
SPY-ON is fitted with a Fortimo SLM available in the versions1100lm, 2000lm, 3000lm and 5000lm, each in 3000 K (warm white light) and 4000 K (cold white light). The colour rendering index is over 90.
Preano®Sun-reflectors are available with beams of 15°, 30° an 40°.
23/05/2012 - NEW CATALOGUE: a reference book full of information and inspiration
The new catalogue from LUNOO, the shop lighting company, has rolled of the press! The idea of the magenta shopping bag has been reserved but the hardcover ensures a durable quality.
Interior and exterior
The existing range has been largely updated; just to name a few: LED-fixtures, new decorative suspended luminaries, lighting systems and exterior lighting. Some runners have on their turn been redesigned. The wide choice of general lighting and accent lighting ensures that every public is addressed. The newest source techniques are also not lost out of sight. Every shop will get the right charisma and every product the perfect look!
Light systems
In this edition special attention goes to the light systems. Pictures and 3D-drawings illustrate the numerous possibilities of these systems. These custom made systems provide solutions for shops as well as offices.
Background information
New is also the last chapter with technical background information. All basic principles of lighting and light fixtures are been explained. Between the different chapters, you can find some fascination articles on the future of LED-lighting, on new CDM warm lamps, on energy-saving using the PREANO-SUN reflectors and on the high-tech LED-spot : SPY-ON.
Inspiration book
Those who have less technical interest can also use this book as inspiration source for the illumination of different spaces. The presence of different project pictures from home and abroad know how to captivate everyone.
